70% population of Bangladesh lives in rural
areas. About 41% of GDP comes from rural areas. Their main financing source is
agriculture but with low productivity. Rural development is not only
involved with the development of rural areas people, but also it directly plays
a vital role for economic development of the nation. The rural sectors
contribute about 2/3 of the GDP. This plan helps to develop their
economic and social lifestyle, increasing production, distribution of
resources, empowerment and advancement of technology. Most disadvantages group
in rural areas is women and child.

Socio
economic problem: Socio economic problem involves with low level of capital
formation, dependency on agricultural based economy, unskilled and uneducated
manpower, unemployment, agricultural loan, population growth, natural disaster
and underdeveloped market.
Physical
Problem: Physical problem involves with
lack of water, less fertile soil and natural dependency.
Social
Problem: Social problem involves with
superstition, illiteracy, land mitigation and agriculture, instability of rural
development policy and inequitable distribution of benefits arising out of the
rural development program.
