Family health care

Introduction: Family health care functions to describe the ability of elderly families in achieving developmental tasks elderly families on stages. Families with elderly should be able to maintain a pleasant home atmosphere, facilitating adaptation to changes in loss of a spouse, friend, physical strength and revenue, maintain conjugal intimacy and mutual care for, and maintain social relationships with children and elderly people that is able to perform life review. Elderly in the family with the functioning of the health care will be able to improve the quality of life for elderly health related dimensions of physical, psychological, level of activity, social relationships, environment and spirituality elderly in the family. The purpose of the study: This study aims to analyze the implementation of family health care functions with quality of life of the elderly in the family. Methodology: This study is a descriptive study with cross sectional analytic. The study was conducted with a sample of 60 elderly health centers in the region of Jember by multistage random sampling from 6 villages of Jelbuk and the analyzes by linear regression. The study was conducted during July to August 2013. Results: The results of the linear regression analysis showed significant relationship between family health care functions with quality of life of elderly (p 0.001) with r value of 0.74 which indicates a positive correlation, which means more family health care serves the more it will improve the quality of life of elderly people in the family with values R square of 54.76% means that the quality of life of elderly people in the family to 54.76% influenced by the implementation of family care functions. Elderly in the family requires comprehensive and holistic treatments related to the physical, psychological, daily activities, social, and spiritual in an effort to increase the independence of the elderly in the family. Conclusion: Families are expected to carry out tasks with optimal family health in achieving the developmental tasks of older families.
